Support for vulnerable residents

Our aim is to help anyone living in Clarion Housing to have access to the heat and light that meets their basic needs. If you are at home a lot and / or living on a low income it can be very hard to do this. If you are unable to keep warm and cook and light your home it can quickly affect your health and well-being – especially if you have an underlying health condition,  disability, are elderly or frail, or looking after young children and babies.

Our Energy Guidance service offers extra support to residents who are struggling – our help is free, personal and practical. We will initially talk to you by phone to find out more about the challenges you face and if a home visit would be useful we will arrange this.

Contact Guideline and ask for our Energy Guidance service to find out more.

All of the Energy companies also give additional help if you are vulnerable. You can request to go on their Priority Services Register which brings a number of benefits:
  • Meter readings completed for you.
  • Arrangements to ensure your prepayment meter is in an accessible location.
  • Advance notice of planned power cuts.
  • Priority help in an emergency power cut.
To find out more simply contact your Energy supplier and ask about their Priority Services

If you or someone in your home is living with cancer there is additional support available from the charity Macmillan. This can include help with bills as well as energy efficiency and advice. Call the Macmillan Support Line on 0808 808 0000 (Monday- Friday 9am-8pm.

Keeping warm is important for your health – there is useful information on the NHS website.

Remember – if you are worried about how you can stay warm and well – contact us.
