Resident involvement

Resident involvement was one of the first areas we reviewed after the merger as we recognised the importance of it. Involved residents have been given the opportunity to shape the new involvement structure for Clarion Housing and influence strategy, policy and the delivery of services.

The new involvement structure ensures opportunities for residents to influence at a number of levels, both formally and informally:

Nationally

Resident Engagement Days

A series of regional events were held in autumn 2017 to promote our Resident Involvement offer and encourage active involvement. A total of 281 residents attended these events. Following the success of these events, we have asked our residents to help us shape another five regional events for 2018.

National Young Ambassadors

Some of the successes our youth ambassadors have achieved so far include a dedicated under-25 area on the main Clarion Housing website and a Hometruths phone app for new young tenants helping them with money, life choices and decisions.

Clarion Voice

In January 2018, Clarion Voice was launched and has quickly grown to over 1,000 resident sign ups. Clarion Voice is an easy way to participate in the community and keep updated on the latest Clarion news. Residents can get involved in studies to shape service design and discussion forums to discuss topics with both staff and residents.

Regionally

  • Regional Scrutiny Committee
  • Service Improvement Groups
  • Tenants and Residents Associations.

So far we have recruited over 300 residents and we continue to support active involvement via our regional involvement managers.

Residents across Clarion have also been helping us to make changes to our Grounds Maintenance and Estate Cleaning Services, influencing the way we communicate specification of services, definition of responsibilities in local mapping and involvement in procurement exercises.
