The Role:

To become a fully trained multi trader and achieve a recognized NVQ Level 3 over a 4 year period, via day release at college.

The role will entail a variety of works carried out mainly in domestic properties (primarily social housing).

The apprentice multi trades person will be expected to travel by their own means within the employers operating area.

Main Duties / Accountability:

To assist and carry out project defined multi trade work to a high standard as directed by the Site Manager; including: Carpentry, Painting and Decorating and Plumbing

  • Assist and carry out project defined electrical work to a high standard as directed by the Site Manager.
  • Work indoors and outdoors and be prepared to sometimes work at height.
  • Understand trades drawings / diagrams.
  • Select (within limits) materials and equipment.
  • Diagnose, test and rectify faults on a range of trades.
  • Write reports.
  • Be prepared to travel away from home.
  • This role involves lifting, bending, kneeling and use of tools and machinery.
  • Attend college on day release and achieve a L3 apprenticeship in multi trades
  • To understand, implement and adhere to ENGIE SHEQ requirements.
  • To work in accordance with any training and instructions given and bring to the attention of the employer any shortcomings and defects in the management systems and protective measures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of any relevant site based documentation.
  • Adhere to Company quality standards; including, compliance with specification, and compliance with materials and workmanship.
  • Attend all relevant training courses including all SHEQ courses arranged by the employer such as Tool Box Talks.
  • Develop good working relationships with people.
  • Maintain and care for all company tools.
  • Wear appropriate clothing and PPE specific to tasks.
  • Ensure all areas of work are left clean and tidy at the end of the working day.
  • Any other reasonable management request.

  • A minimum of 4 GCSE’s or equivalent at Grade A* to C / 9-4, including English and Math's

Experience / Knowledge:

  • To be I.T. literate and familiar with Microsoft “Word”, “Excel” or equivalent software
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • Highly motivated
  • The ability to work as a team member and possess good interpersonal, communication and literacy skills.
  • To work with efficiency, accuracy and to be able to meet deadlines.
  • To be able to prioritize workload and work under own initiative.
  • High level of flexibility and dependability.
  • Full Clean UK Driving License (Desirable, but not Essential)
