Purpose of the Role:

To carry out works efficiently and to a high standard, providing a professional painting and decorating service, and completing all tasks to an acceptable standard. Delivering KPI’s whilst adhering to HSEQ requirements. Flexibility to work within a team or alone and work tidally within resident’s properties utilising 1st & 2nd fix and maintenance. Completion of set college or theoretical work and proactively work towards its completion, as a minimum on time, ideally before.

Essential Personal Qualities:

Essential Skills:

As per skill trade and not limited to:

  • Applying paint, stains, varnishes and other finishes
  • Using brushes, rollers or spraying equipment
  • Applying primers and undercoats, or varnishes and glazes
  • Wallpapering
  • Calculating the materials needed for a project
  • All preparation works including but not limited to removing old paint or wallpaper by sanding or scraping, or by using heat guns, liquid paint removers or steam strippers
  • Mixing paint to an agreed shade
  • Laying dust sheets in work areas to protect from paint in a safe manner
  • Preparing surfaces for decorating by filling holes and sealing cracks
  • Tidying up and cleaning your tools
  • Use of access equipment safely when appropriately trained and adhering to all H&S training requirements

Essential Experience and Knowledge:

Previous skills and advantage and cross trade skills are beneficial. This role requires on-the-job training as well college attendance, which will be monitored by the relevant training provider.

Qualifications:

Not applicable but previous or relevant to the trade would be beneficial.

Completion of all required associated training to the apprenticeship, for example Math’s and English.

Attending or Completion of any in-house LCB Group training as and when required.

Travel Expectations:

Preferred driving license if you live outside of Plymouth

Training Provider:

City College Plymouth.
