Job Description
Although the initial positions start in Haringey, candidates will be expected to travel around as the work can be quite changeable – so a driving licence will be an advantage to any applicants.
You will be required to:
- Unloading scaffolding equipment on-site
- Ensuring a stable base for scaffolding
- Erecting scaffolding
- Fixing scaffolding to buildings or structures
- Laying boards for workers to walk on
- Fixing guard rails and safety netting
- Dismantling scaffolding when a project is complete
- Creating different kinds of platforms, from simple scaffolding through to complex structures such as suspended scaffolding, cantilever drops and temporary roofs
- Working on-site in all weather

- Awareness of health and safety
- Ability to understand technical drawings and plans
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Grades A-C / 9-4 at GCSE or Functional Skills Level 2 in maths and English preferred

- Good communication and interpersonal skills which enable him/her to establish and maintain positive working relationships with peers, customers, and other contractors
- Physical fitness and stamina, since the job requires many physical requirements such as the ability to lift heavy materials and withstand extensive bending, kneeling, and harsh weather conditions
- The ability to strictly adhere to construction and company health and safety policies and procedures
- Another essential duty that is carried out by a roofer after fixing a roof is to complete the site set up and clean up, as cleaning up the job location where he/she worked is his/her responsibility
