Job Description

Purpose of the Role:-

  • To ensure that all stock on site is looked after to the highest standards, thus enabling us to despatch the best quality stock in excellent condition to satisfy our customers’ expectations
  • To ensure stock is attractively displayed, spaced and well labelled

Key responsibilities:-

  • Ensuring the correct level of watering to all stock across the whole nursery site, including weekends and bank holidays
  • Upkeep of irrigation system and growing structures
  • Assisting with incoming free stock for the Cash & Carry unit, quality checking, standing down, ensuring that stock is in the correct area depending on the stock’s specific and seasonal requirements and is correctly labelled
  • Carrying out cultural requirements, ie weeding, feeding, pruning, spraying tying etc, of stock
  • Production of new crops and potting on of stock into larger pot sizes
  • Liaise with other members of the team to ensure the correct resources are available to you to complete required tasks
  • Ensuring company Quality standards are adhered to
  • Make sure that the nursery is always tidy and looks appealing to visiting customers
  • Understanding and implementing Health & Safety, Environmental and other Regulatory procedures when necessary
  • Assist with making sure stock is well labelled, priced and has barcodes so they can be scanned at point of sale including home grown stock
  • Work with other team members to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the company
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and stored safely
  • When required assist in other areas of the business
  • Covering Nursery Supervisor when on leave

3 GCSE’s – to include English and maths at Grades C/level 4 and above. GCSE’s at Grade C/Level 4 and above will be required by those looking to progress within this sector
