Become a volunteer and help tackle loneliness

Clarion Futures

We want all our residents to feel connected and supported, which is more important than ever today.

Lend an Ear is a new volunteering programme launched by Clarion Futures that aims to stamp out loneliness and social isolation, and create invaluable relationships that can make a positive impact.

What is the Lend an Ear programme?

By dedicating just 30 minutes of your time a week for a chat, you could make an enormous difference to the life of an elderly or vulnerable person. Our new volunteering programme, Lend an Ear, aims to harness the power of a phone call and help beat social isolation and loneliness in our communities. If you’re warm, empathetic and open minded, you could be just what we’re looking for!

This free service is being offered to our elderly and vulnerable residents who struggle to get out and about, so that they can enjoy and benefit from a weekly or fortnightly friendly chat with someone on the phone or online.

By becoming a Lend an Ear volunteer, your call could help boost not only someone’s emotional wellbeing, but help lift their confidence and empower them to make changes in their lives. And you can do all this from the comfort of your own home! We will find you a suitable match and the time you commit can be flexible to suit your availability. It’s easy, fun, and safe, and you will receive full training alongside regular on-going support.
