Your new High Path neighbourhood

Designed to meet your needs

We’ve redesigned High Path with your needs in mind. It’s all part of the Clarion Housing approach.

In 2015, we carried out opinion surveys with residents to see what you wanted from your new neighbourhood.

The redesigned High Path neighbourhood will have:

  • 1,704 new homes
  • a central park with links to surrounding areas
  • up to 9,900 square meters of commercial and retail units along Merton High Street
  • new and improved community facilities for everyone in the neighbourhood to use.

Keeping your community together

You've made it clear that keeping your community together is really important to you. To make sure this happens, we will:

  • offer all existing High Path tenants and resident homeowners a new home in the neighbourhood
  • move the majority of residents directly from their current home to their new home
  • rehouse existing residents before finding new residents to move in.

Trees and open spaces

You asked us for a safer and more pedestrian-friendly neighbourhood. We've heard your feedback.

Your redesigned High Path estate will include:

  • new street connections to better connect surrounding areas to the new streets and neighbourhood park
  • tree-lined streets with high-quality paving that will create a nice neighbourhood to walk around
  • a variety of high quality pavings throughout High Path to make it easier to navigate.

New retail and commercial facilities

New retail and commercial facilities along Merton High Street and Morden Road will create a commercial hub near South Wimbledon station. You'll enjoy access to lots of facilities, including restaurants and cafes and a community centre.

A new neighbourhood park

A central park will give you lots of outdoor space for events and play areas. The new park will have something for everyone, including:

  • Plant areas with seasonal flowers and shrubs
  • a kids play trail
  • a civic square for community events
  • Seating areas
  • Large grassed area offering a place to sit, play or relax with family and friends
  • Route through the park for emergency and refuse vehicles
  • Large mature Oak trees, approximately 15m in height will line either side of the park
