  • Sherwood Close regeneration

A new Sherwood Close: a thriving, green, mixed-tenure neighbourhood in West Ealing with spacious, well-designed homes to enjoy.

  • High-quality new homes for new and existing residents.
  • Tree-lined avenues, communal courtyards and private gardens.
  • Play areas and private spaces to enjoy.
  • A thriving neighbourhood with community facilities at its heart.
  • Pedestrian links to West Ealing’s shops and transport connections.

Residents, neighbours and local stakeholders have been involved with Clarion Housing and Ealing Council throughout the development of the detailed design proposals for a new Sherwood Close.

Residents have already moved into the first 71 homes. Construction of a further 139 homes will begin in early-2020 where Crossbow House and numbers 22-37, 39-42 and 43-68 Sherwood Close are currently located.

About Sherwood Close

Sherwood Close is a 1970s council-owned housing estate with 209 homes in West Ealing. In 2008, Ealing Council identified that major works were needed to bring Sherwood Close up to the government’s Decent Homes Standard. There were also problems of antisocial behaviour, a lack of family-sized homes and poorly lit internal corridors.

As part of our commitment residents can expect:

  • existing residents to be rehoused first in a single move
  • every new home to be the same size, or bigger, than the home it replaces
  • private outdoor space for every home
  • every social rented home to be replaced
  • Clarion Housing tenants to be rehoused according to need with larger homes for
  • overcrowded families and, in some cases, adult children given a home of their own
  • payments to cover the costs of moving and settling in.
