Skyler Contracting Ltd are searching for a motivated and reliable individual to join their team as a Level 2 Roofing Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in roofing while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. This role will begin in Station Road, Finchley, then expand to projects across London.

You will receive on-the-job training combined with classroom-based learning to complete your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion, there may be opportunities for further progression to a Level 3 qualification or full-time employment as a qualified roofer.

High-level roofing operatives currently within the business can earn £60,000 plus per annum with the right skills and attributes.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of various roofing systems, including Bituminous, ‘cold applied’ PMMA and PU Liquid, and Hot Melt
  • Prepare materials, tools, and work areas for roofing jobs
  • Remove old roofing materials safely and efficiently
  • Use hand and power tools under supervision
  • Support experienced roofers and learn industry best practices
  • Keep the worksite clean and organised
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with safety regulations and Health and Safety procedures
  • Various other related site/waterproofing qualifications

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid CSCS card
  • Strong work ethic – Reliable, punctual, and committed to learning
  • Physical fitness – Able to lift, climb, and work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Attention to detail – Careful, accurate work to ensure high-quality finishes and safety
  • Teamwork – Works well with supervisors and fellow tradespeople
