Arvag is looking to hire a Machine Shop Apprentice to join the manufacturing team and develop the skills required to safely operate a range of woodworking and production machinery. The apprentice will progress from basic machine shop operations through to advanced CNC manufacturing, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and productivity.
Main Duties
- Safely operate beam saws and drum sanders.
- Handle, identify, store and move timber, boards, veneers and finished components.
- Operate edge banding machinery, automatic glue rollers and heated press equipment.
- Carry out quality inspections and identify defects.
- Develop CNC machine operation and programming skills.
- Assist with machine setup and read production drawings and cutting schedules.
- Produce components to precise specifications and tolerances.
- Carry out daily machine cleaning, housekeeping and routine maintenance checks.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
- Support production teams as required.
Requirements:
- Must hold a UK driving licence.
- Must be a Clarion Resident.
