Statement on fire safety by Clarion Housing Group

Clarion Housing Group

Clarion Housing Group is shocked and saddened by the serious fire at Grenfell Tower earlier today. Our thoughts are with all those who have been affected by this tragic incident.

We are aware that our residents, particularly those living in high rise buildings, may have concerns following today’s events. We want to reassure our residents that we take fire safety very seriously and that their safety continues to be our top priority. As soon as we are in receipt of information and advice from the relevant authorities’ ongoing investigations we will act swiftly to implement any fire safety recommendations. We will also work alongside our partners, including the Fire Brigade and other housing providers, to review our strategy and practices as soon as more information become available as to the cause of the fire.

In addition we are on standby to offer any support we can, including providing temporary accommodation, to those who have so tragically lost their homes.

In the meantime we are reviewing our housing stock and any residual concerns around fire safety. We will also be issuing practical fire safety advice to our residents and colleagues.
