If you aspire to a rewarding career in health and social care and live in Birmingham, our free course will provide you with the skills and opportunities you need to succeed.
Delivered in partnership between Clarion Futures, Embark Training and Fairway Health & Social Care, the programme is designed to blend the knowledge and skills you need to excel and open the doors to roles as a Health Care Assistant, Support Worker in a residential or nursing home, help those with disabilities or mental health needs, or work in Community Care or the NHS.
Upon completion of the four-week in-person course, you will receive two accredited qualifications, L1 Award Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care, plus L1 Digital Skills, if required.

- Infection control
- Allergies
- Health and safety
- Safeguarding
- Medication
- Administration
- Manual handling
Following successful completion, work experience in a health and social care setting will be provided to suitable candidates by Fairway Health & Social Care, as well as interview and employment opportunities.
Furthermore, Clarion Futures will provide additional and ongoing support throughout your journey and help you stand out from the crowd, including:
- CV writing
- Interview preparation and tips for success
- Support with Right to Work documents if applicable
- Ongoing support with accessing employment.
The course takes place Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 2.30pm with delivery locations in both Birmingham and Walsall. It is a rolling programme with start dates taking place throughout the year.
