With fraudsters becoming increasingly sophisticated and creative in their tactics, it is vital to be alert and keep one step ahead.

Our free online sessions - taking place during Fraud Awareness Week (17-23 November 2024) - offers you guidance on how to stay protected and keep your data safe.

Nobody is immune from being targeted and tricked by a fraudster; it can happen to anyone and in many different ways.

That is why we want you to know how to keep yourself and your family safe whilst online.

Hosted by experts from Clarion Futures’ Digital Skills team, these one-hour sessions are delivered via Zoom, so you can take part from the comfort of your home or wherever you may be.

Expand your knowledge on how to stay sage online, following five simple steps you can take to protect yourself.

This course also focuses on identity theft, helping you spot the common risks and advises you on the actions you can take to prevent it.

By the end of the session, you will have learned:

Why it is important to stay safe online
About online identity theft, the common risks, and the actions you can take to prevent it happening to you.
The five steps to staying safe online, including how to prevent viruses, create strong passwords, and identify a secure website.

After the session, you will also be emailed handy resources you can refer to.

Thursday, 21 November, 1pm – 2pm

Discover what a digital footprint is and learn the 12 steps you can take to manage and protect your digital footprint.

By the end of the session, you will have learned:

What a digital footprint is.
The importance of having a positive digital footprint
The 12 steps you can take to manage your digital footprint

As with our Internet Safety course, following this session you will be provided with helpful resources you can refer to.
