During a Tash & Finish group, residents of Oak Court highlighted how the communal conservatory could not be used for seating or relaxation, because it was dirty and being used for storage. The window blinds were old and needed removing.

Residents wanted to be able to use the conservatory again, as it has a nice view of the communal gardens and receives plenty of daylight. Residents also suggested using it as an extension of the games room area, and a place where they could sit and socialise.

The Resident Involvement team along with our Housing and Clarion Futures teams organised a ‘volunteer day’ with residents. We cleaned up the communal garden area, tidied the conservatory and we took down the blinds.

Now, residents can enjoy using the conservatory for socialising, relaxing, reading or playing darts. Part of the conservatory has been transformed into a games area extension.
