The code was launched at an event yesterday [15 August 2019] at Sutton Community Hall attended by residents, representatives from the police and community groups.
Clarion Housing is the largest social landlord in the country and has 700 properties in Bradford.
The ‘good neighbour code’ encourages residents to be clean, safe and happy, providing advice relating to looking out for and being respectful to neighbours, cleaning up after pets and looking after gardens.
As part of this programme of neighbourhood improvement, Clarion also announced that it will be holding weekly surgeries at Sutton Community Hall every Wednesday from 11 September. These surgeries will be held in partnership with the local police and councillors, providing residents with more opportunities to engage with community services.
Kirsten Wildman, Head of Housing (North) for Clarion, commented:
“We’ve created the ‘good neighbour code’ with our residents after holding focus groups and sending out questionnaires to find out how they feel about living in the area and how we can work together to make improvements.
“We have engaged with partners and the police, as well as local councillors, to explore opportunities and address challenges. By working together, we can transform lives and communities here in Bradford and make our neighbourhoods better places to live.”
