To celebrate International Youth Day, Clarion is proud to celebrate the power, passion and potential of young people across our communities.
On Saturday 19 July, more than 70 young, Community Ambassador Programme (CAP) volunteers and staff gathered in Birmingham for the Power of Youth event, a vibrant celebration of youth-led social action, creativity and connection.
Part of the nationwide #iwill Scaling Intergenerational Youth Social Action Programme, the event brought together young changemakers from CAP to share their achievements, build connections and have fun.
With immersive experiences like virtual reality, Minecraft and a silent disco, delivered by Creative Active Lives, alongside a powerful spoken word workshop by Birmingham Poet Laureate Jasmine Gardosi, the day was both joyful and deeply meaningful.
Showcasing youth impact
The day wrapped up on a high note with CAP volunteers proudly presenting their impactful social action work, followed by thought-provoking poetry readings inspired by the workshop. The showcase was a powerful reminder of what happens when youth are given the tools and trust to lead.
Fuelled by fun, inspiration, and community spirit, the Power of Youth event was more than just a celebration, it was a beacon of hope for what young people can accomplish when they’re given a voice.
“Just wanted to say big thanks to all of you for creating this opportunity for me to showcase my creative journey with Mafia Weekend and connecting with other programmes and organisations and its young people.
