Changing lives through creativity

Clarion

Clarion Futures have grant-funded the ASBO Magazine Creative Development programme, helping transform the lives of over 150 young people facing unemployment, low confidence and mental health challenges in the wake of lockdown.

In partnership with ASBO Magazine and The D Foundation, the initiative offered real-world experience across journalism, styling, photography, video production, and graphic design.

Participants worked on exciting projects with big-name brands like Adidas, Nike, Oasis, and Marshall Records, creating content for print, digital, and social media.

Real experience, real opportunities

Through workshops, mentoring and hands-on assignments, young people didn’t just build technical skills, they developed confidence, emotional resilience, and a sense of purpose.

Many entered the programme shy, anxious or uncertain about the future, but left with stronger communication skills and belief in their abilities.

Pathways to success

The programme has already opened doors to jobs, apprenticeships, freelance work, and even film opportunities, with many roles secured thanks to the connections and portfolios developed during the project.

The roles on offer were things like:

  • photographers
  • stylists
  • journalists
  • social media managers
  • content producers for web, social, media and print.

More than just skills

Most importantly, the project fostered friendship, community, and a sense of belonging. For many participants, this was the first time they felt truly seen and supported.

Clarion Futures is proud to have supported a programme that’s not only building careers, but changing lives.
