Making local connections easier
When was the last time you stopped for a chat with a neighbour? Or got to know someone new where you live?
Public Living Rooms are coming to a community near you, offering relaxed and friendly places where residents can connect. Open to all, they make it easier to meet new people, have a chat, and feel part of your local community.
What is a Public Living Room?
A Public Living Room is a shared space where neighbours can come together in a relaxed and informal setting.
Delivered in partnership with Camerados, Fusion21, Peabody and Sovereign Network Group (SNG), Public Living Rooms can be set up indoors or outdoors using simple items such as chairs, refreshments and games. There is no set agenda - just a friendly place where people can spend time together.
Public Living Rooms offer:
- the chance to meet new people and build friendships
- a relaxed space to unwind and have conversations
- opportunities to share experiences and feel supported
- a stronger sense of belonging in your community.
One Clarion resident told us: “It’s a place where you can just sit down, have a chat and feel welcome. It really brings people together.
