In celebration of one of the most iconic chapters in British history, Clarion Futures’ Communities team are hosting an inspiring event in London that will share the stories of the Empire Windrush passengers.
Taking place on Thursday 25 August, between 1.30pm to 4pm, at Anerley Hall in Crystal Palace, you will have the opportunity to hear the experiences of the passengers who arrived at Tilbury Docks from the Caribbean in 1948.
These passengers went on to make a significant contribution to the richness and diversity of British society and culture.
Suitable for all the family, an interactive presentation will bring this slice of history to life, exploring the lives of some of the passengers onboard (including some famous people), their contribution to Britain’s war effort, and the housing and employment opportunities available to them.
You will also have an opportunity to sample Caribbean cuisine and take part in engaging discussions.
