At Clarion, we value our residents’ insights and views. This is why we are looking for someone to join our Clarion Housing Association Board. We're looking for someone who can bring knowledge and fresh perspective to make a difference.

The role of the Clarion Housing Association Board

The Board handles the delivery of all our landlord services. Their role is to work together to shape and improve how we manage and maintain our homes.

We are committed to giving our residents a voice and placing their views at the heart of our decision-making. The Board currently has 12 members, each offering various skills and experience. Four of the present Board members are residents. This is to ensure that our residents are well represented within the board.

What being a Board member involves

As a resident board member, you'll be a non-executive director. You'll have the same legal responsibilities as your fellow Board members. You'll have some experience serving similar responsibilities. For example, board members, committees or customer representatives.

You will also need to:

  • be able to communicate effectively and constructively, and interpret a variety of information.
  • develop effective working relationships with your fellow Board members and the executive.

We'll provide a tailored training and induction programme for the successful candidate.

Time commitment

It is important you can meet the time commitment, which is around two to three days a month. This will include attending board meetings, away days, AGMs, and other events.

Who can apply?

  • you must be a resident named on the tenancy agreement.
  • you cannot be in arrears or breach any aspects of your tenancy with us.
