Spotlight on gas safety: summer update
We introduced Clarion Commitments to highlight the services we offer to you, our residents, and the standard you can expect from us.
Each month we publish our results to demonstrate our commitment to being open and transparent in our service delivery.
This quarter, we revisit commitment no.4: 'We will maintain your building's safety" to highlight our summer gas campaign.
This commitment focuses on the regular, essential checks we carry out on our properties, and June performance includes:
- Carrying out 80,657 annual gas safety checks, which is 99.8% of our target.
- Exceeding our targets for safety checks of communal water tanks, lift inspections, asbestos surveys, and fire risk assessments.
- Completion of 97,272 electrical wiring checks, exceeding our target of 95%.
Annual gas safety checks
Although we're well into the summer months, there is no off-season for gas safety, it's just as important now as it is in the winter.
This is why we have launched our annual gas safety campaign to ensure your home remains gas safe and compliant.
If you are due a gas safety check, look out for your appointment letter. It should arrive around 10 months after your last check-up.
Keep an eye out for our gas safety postcards at summer events, and messaging across our social channels, which highlight the importance of these essential checks.
- We carry out gas safety checks to make sure your gas and heating systems are safe, to protect you, your neighbours, and your home.
- You have a legal responsibility to allow our engineer to perform the gas safety check. They will also test your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
- Gas safety checks are free, quick and simple; 20 minutes is usually all it takes for our engineer to check your home and your appliances.
