Borrow drills and tools for free in Islington

Clarion

Save money, storage space, and reduce your carbon footprint by borrowing tools instead of buying them.

Thanks to Borrow It, a new project supported by Clarion Futures, Clarion residents in Islington can now borrow tools and household items completely free of charge.

Delivered by social enterprise Things in Common, Borrow It is a brand new “library of things” based at Caxton House community centre and Priory Green Estate, offering a smarter, more sustainable way to access useful items you only need occasionally.

What can I borrow?

An ever-growing range of handy household items and tools are available in the smart lockers, including:

  • Drills and impact drivers
  • Sanders and saws
  • Hedge trimmers and cutters
  • Pressure washers and wet/dry vacuums
  • Sewing machines and more on the way!

Why use Borrow It?

Borrow It helps you get what you need, without the cost, clutter, or waste. It’s ideal for those on a tight budget or with limited storage space, and best of all, membership is free for Clarion residents living in social housing or on means-tested benefits.

You could be:

  • Moving home
  • Decorating or tackling a DIY job
  • Preparing for a new baby
  • Sorting out your garden
  • Dealing with a domestic emergency

“Borrow It is a brilliant example of how a small change can make a big difference. This service helps residents save money, reduce waste, and do more with the space they have.” – Clarion Futures
