What does your home and neighbourhood mean to you?

Clarion

We recently invited you to share your views on the words and phrases used in social housing. Now, you can take part in a new survey and tell us about your home, neighbourhood and experiences of living in social housing.

We are taking part in new research with the G15, a group of London's largest housing associations that works together on research and policy. By working together, we can learn from real resident experiences across different housing associations, to help build a better understanding of social housing stigma.

What is social housing stigma?

Social housing stigma can lead to feelings of being judged or treated differently because you live in social housing. It can also affect how people feel about their home, neighbourhood, and how others see them.

The new survey wants to find out whether the design and appearance of homes and neighbourhoods can affect people’s experiences of social housing stigma. As one of the largest housing associations, listening to our residents is part of our commitment to putting residents first. You can answer questions and tell us in your own words what you think could help reduce social housing stigma.

Share your views on:

  • how you feel about your home and surrounding area
  • your relationships with neighbours
  • whether you have been treated differently because you live in social housing
  • how you think other people view your neighbourhood
  • the design and appearance of your home
  • what you think makes somewhere a good place to live.

Your responses can help shape how neighbourhoods can be designed to reduce stigma and create places where people feel proud to live.

How you can take part:

  • the survey takes around 15 minutes to complete
  • it's anonymous and confidential
  • if you are a Clarion resident or shared owner.
