Bringing musical memories to LiveSmart residents

Clarion

LiveSmart residents across North London have been enjoying musical performances once again, thanks to Connaught Opera.

The trio of performers from Connaught Opera have been brining music to residents in LiveSmart schemes for a number of years, thanks to Clarion Futures grant funding.

While the pandemic put a stop to so much, Maria, Glenn and Nicholas were busy planning and rehearsing their ‘Moonlight and Roses’ programme. The theme for these latest shows brings the magic of musical theatre and music from the 1940s and 50s, through the works of Rodgers and Hammerstein, George Gershwin, and Cole Porter.

When Covid restrictions allowed, the communal lounges were transformed by the live performances. With three or four costume changes, the performers create a wonderful show and residents love listening to these musical memories.

Staff at the schemes are delighted with how much these performances have been enjoyed by residents.

“It was much appreciated by all the residents in attendance, they were uplifted and joyous at the end of the show and looking forward to having you back at the scheme.”

“The residents would like to express their thanks. They really did enjoy the music and the costumes.”

“Thank you for your professional performing, beautiful songs, singing and your glamorous costumes. Our residents enjoyed your musical concert very much.”

We’re so pleased that as Covid restrictions ease, residents can once again enjoy live performances, and more group activities.
