LiveSmart: homes for older people
Our LiveSmart homes are for people over 55. There are studios, flats and bungalows within secure developments.
If you’re looking to downsize or would like the security of on-site support, LiveSmart supported living homes are ideal. We currently have almost 5,000 people living in our LiveSmart homes.
Each development has its own manager. It’s their job to make sure the environment is safe and secure, and to provide you with any help and assistance you might need. However, they don’t provide nursing or home care.
On some schemes the managers are based on-site. On others they visit at set times. All homes have an alarm which is monitored 24/7.
LiveSmart give you the comfort of a communal living environment. Many of the developments also have a programme of social events and activities.
As a LiveSmart resident, you’ll be asked to provide contact information for your relatives, friends and doctors, so they can be contacted in an emergency.
How to apply
In some areas, homes are advertised and allocated through local councils. But many LiveSmart homes are advertised and allocated through our choice-based lettings website, Home Choice.
While LiveSmart developments have dedicated staff and enhanced facilities, you do need to be able to live independently.
I’ve been here for about six years and I love it. It’s an absolute treat.
Meet Anne – LiveSmart resident
“I previously lived in a big three-bedroom flat, but after my husband died I needed to downsize. I was aware of families struggling and in desperate need to find somewhere with enough space to live.
“I’ve been here for about six years and I love it. It’s an absolute treat. I have lovely neighbours and a gardener who comes once a fortnight. My home is very comfortable and I have photographs of my family all around me. If I have ever had a problem the service has been excellent and been sorted straight away.”
We have 4,624 LiveSmart homes across the country for people aged over 55. Within each scheme, residents have their own homes and can maintain their independence, safe in the knowledge that help and support are available.
