Ideal Heating boiler fault

Ideal Heating have identified a potential issue with certain Combi and System boilers installed between August 2022 and January 7, 2024.

Ideal Heating have confirmed you can continue to use your boiler as normal - you don’t need to turn it off.

If your boiler was installed within this timeframe, please be aware of the following details:

  • A very small number of Ideal Heating boilers, approximately 1 in 10,000, may experience a fault.
  • This issue arises when an excessive volume of air becomes trapped inside the boiler during a fault condition, potentially causing overheating and failure.
  • You can continue to use your boiler as usual; there's no need to turn it off.
  • For more information, please refer to Ideal Heating's official notice.

What's Happens Next:

  • Ideal Heating will implement a product safety upgrade starting at the end of this month. During this period, customers can still safely use their boilers.
  • Ideal Heating is actively identifying affected boilers by serial number.
  • Customers with affected boilers will be directly contacted by either Ideal Heating or by the Clarion heating contractor for your area with further instructions.
  • The necessary additional part will be provided, ensuring it does not impact the boiler's performance or efficiency.

Important Tips:

  • Do not turn off your boiler.
  • You can continue to use it safely, but Ideal Heating recommends repressurising your boiler to 1.5 Bar. Instructions for repressurising can be found below.
