Spotlight on Clarion Commitments: building safety
As your landlord, we want to provide a safe and comfortable home. From fire risk assessments to lifts and communal water tanks, it’s regular inspections and checks that keep everything running smoothly, helping to maintain your building’s safety.
This quarter, we spotlight Commitment no.4 - focusing on gas and electrical safety checks that are essential for your home, to protect you and your household.
We complete around 19,000 electrical and 80,000 gas inspections each year.
Please remember: all gas, electrical safety checks and repairs must be completed by our qualified contractors only.
Gas safety – annual check
We must check your boiler and other gas appliances every year to ensure they’re working safely. Gas safety appointments are quick and simple – 20 minutes is usually all it takes for our engineer to check everything.
Please keep an eye out for your appointment letter, and if you haven’t had a gas safety check in the last 12 months, call our Customer Support Team immediately on 0300 333 6591.
Electrical safety checks
We must check your home's electrical wiring once every five years, and from November 2025 this inspection will become a legal requirement as part of new safety regulations. This means you will be required by law to allow us access.
We will write to you when your electrical safety check is due – please keep an eye out for your appointment letter.

You have a legal responsibility to give our engineers access on the day of your appointment. You risk breaching your tenancy agreement and facing legal action if you don’t:
- keep your appointments
- allow our contractor into your home.
