This year, Get Online Week runs from 20-24th October 2025.
We’re encouraging residents to “try one little thing” each day to get online for good - and the Clarion Futures Digital Support team is here to help every step of the way. For many residents, that one thing might be getting online for the very first time.
Each day this week, we’ll share a simple action you can take - these actions are designed to help you build your digital skills and confidence.
Monday: meet your local Digital Support Officer
Your local Digital Support Officer can assess your digital needs and connect you to the right support. They’re here to help you become more confident and connected online.
Contact them:
- Email: digital@clarionhg.com
- Text: send CLARION, your name, address, and DIGITAL SUPPORT to 60650
- Visit: drop by your local Digital Hub, or you'll find us at various activities and events near you.
Tuesday: take your first step online
Do you want to get online and learn new skills? Do you want to know to use the internet, but don’t know where to start? The Digital Device Scheme can help you take your first step online.
From laptops, tablets or smartphone with free data, discover how one device can connect you to learning, jobs, and loved ones. Take your first step into the digital world!
Wednesday: support your community to get online
Do you run or support a local community group or organisation? Want to help your community get online? Through the Clarion Futures Digital Grants programme, we offer grants of up to £5,000 to support Digital Inclusion projects that help residents, and the wider community get online safely, confidently, and regularly.
Our funding backs projects that show residents how the internet and digital devices can make everyday life easier and more enjoyable - whether that’s staying in touch, finding work, managing finances, or learning something new.

Learning even one new digital skill can make a big difference. Our drop-in classes, workshops and accredited courses help residents use the internet safely and confidently, so you can make the most of online opportunities.

Do you want to help others get online and build confidence with technology? Digital Champions are volunteers who support people in their community to learn vital digital skills.
From using mobile phones to accessing online services safely, they make a real difference. Four members of our Digital Support Team started as volunteer Digital Champions - could you be next?
Case study - helping residents thrive in a digital world
Last year, Clarion Futures launched the Low-Cost Tech Project, supporting digitally excluded residents in over-55 housing.
Fifty residents received Android tablets, Google Nest Hubs, and 12 months of broadband, alongside tailored digital support to help them build confidence and stay connected.
Now in its delivery phase, the project continues to adapt to each housing scheme's needs, helping older residents explore the benefits of being online, from managing bills to staying in touch with loved ones.
Jean, a Haven Court resident, has made incredible progress. Living with severe sight loss, she felt excluded from digital life. With one-to-one support from her Digital Champion Paul, Jean now uses voice commands to send texts, listen to RNIB Talking News, and even tell an AI chatbot about her travels. She recently attended the Sight Village Exhibition to explore more accessible tech.
Jean’s story shows how inclusive digital support can transform lives - boosting confidence, independence, and wellbeing.
