Residents from Clarion communities across the country have been taking part in a range of wellbeing, resilience and support sessions designed to help people feel connected, informed, and supported.
More than 70 residents took part in activities held in communities across Bow, Penge, Snodland, Basildon, East Malling, Norwich, Surrey and Tamworth, as well as online. The activities were delivered by Clarion Futures, the Resident Involvement Team and colleagues from across Clarion.
Building confidence and finding support
Residents accessed practical advice and guidance on finances, housing and wellbeing through welfare benefit surgeries, tenancy support sessions and community events. Resilience Reset workshops in Bow and Penge encouraged residents to explore how they can adapt to challenges, build confidence and develop strategies to support their wellbeing. A Yoga to Career workshop also helped residents focus on both wellbeing and future opportunities, combining a relaxing yoga session with confidence-building and employability activities.
Creativity, connection and shared experiences
Wellbeing space sessions in Basildon and East Malling highlighted the importance of creativity, shared memories, and social connections in supporting wellbeing. Residents shared hobbies that help them relax and unwind, including crochet and tile painting. Another session invited people to bring childhood photographs and reflect on their favourite pastimes and life experiences. These activities sparked meaningful conversations, helped residents learn more about one another, and strengthened connections within the community.
Residents also took part in online hoarding awareness and peer support sessions. Attendees praised the information shared and the opportunity to hear real experiences. One resident said the session was "very informative", while another commented: "I didn't realise hoarding came under the mental health umbrella."
Supporting wellbeing together
The positive response shows the value of bringing residents together to learn, share experiences, and support one another. Clarion Futures will continue providing opportunities that help residents build confidence, improve wellbeing and strengthen community connections.
